  1. The first step is to gather the ingredients. You will need red lentils, onions, ginger garlic paste, tomato paste or fresh tomatoes, turmeric powder and cumin seeds
  2. Next you should heat some oil in a pan and fry your onion until it turns golden brown
  3. Add your ginger garlic paste to this mixture and stir well for about 2 minutes
  4. Now add the remaining spices (turmeric powder and cumin seeds) as well as water or vegetable stock
  5. Stir all of these together then add the lentils to the mix
  6. Bring this mixture to a boil before adding salt to taste
  7. Add the chicken
